About Us
EICT Academy, IIT Kanpur is a joint initiative of Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and IIT Kanour. Electronics & ICT Academies were set up at 7 IITs, NITs and IIITs by Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) under a sponsored scheme entitled “Scheme of Financial Assistance for setting up of Electronics and ICT Academies”. EICT Academy, IIT Kanpur aims to provide specialised training to the faculty members of Engineering, Arts, Commerce, Science and Polytechnic Colleges etc. EICT Academy has planned short time training programs in emerging technologies including in advanced topics of IT, Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, Electronics and Communication, Product Design, Manufacturing, Sustainability among others, by providing state of art Online training facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend services, databases, and APIs for web and mobile applications.
- Collaborate with the frontend development team to ensure seamless integration between the frontend and backend components.
- Create and optimize database schemas and queries for optimal performance and scalability.
- Integrate third-party services and APIs as needed.
- Troubleshoot and resolve backend issues, ensuring high system availability.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to maintain code quality.
- Contribute to the design and architecture of the applications, focusing on scalability and security.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve our development process.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven experience as a Backend Developer, with a strong portfolio showcasing PHP, MySQL, Node.js, WordPress, and React projects.
- Proficiency in PHP and its popular frameworks, such as Laravel or Symfony.
- Strong knowledge of MySQL, including database design, optimization, and query performance.
- Experience with Node.js for building scalable backend services.
- Familiarity with WordPress and the ability to develop custom plugins and themes.
- Proficiency in React for building interactive and responsive web applications.
- Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and integration of third-party services.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools is a plus.
